Road closure
An urgent temporary road closure has been put in place to allow United Utilities Water to carry out urgent drainage repairs (“the Works”), Cumberland Council prohibits with immediate effect the passage of vehicular traffic along that section of the U1191 Heads Nook from a point adjacent to a property known as Brook Lynn, extending in an easterly direction for approx.. 200 m
This notice will be in force for a period not exceeding 5 days from 26th June 2023. It is expected that the Works will take 3 days

Location: A section of the U1191 Heads Nook from a point adjacent to a property known as Brook Lynn, extending in an easterly direction for approx.. 200 m
Alternative Route: A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the U1191, C1026 & U1192 and a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Road closure
A temporary road closure has been put in place to allow Cumberland Council Highways Service to carry out highway works which are expected to commence 10th July 2023 and anticipated to take 9 weeks to complete.

Location: C1026 Cairn Bridge, near Heads Nook, from its junction with the C1035, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.25km.
Alternative Route for Eastbound Vehicles: via the unrestricted sections of the C1026, C1024 and C1035.
Alternative Route for Westbound Vehicles: via the C1035, U1197, C1024 and the unrestricted section of the C1026.
To facilitate the alternative routes during the restriction above on the C1026 Cairn Bridge, near Heads Nook, a one way system will be in place temporarily. Vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding:
(i) Other than in a south westerly direction along that section of the C1035, from its junction with the C1024 extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 560m; and
(ii) Other than in a north westerly direction along that section of the U1197, from its junction with the C1035, extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with the C1024.
Location: C1026 Cairn Bridge, near Heads Nook, from its junction with the U1191 extending in a northerly direction for approx. 340m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1026, C1027 and A69 Warwick Bridge
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

Location: C1035 Howmill, Brampton from its junction with the U1197 extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 65m.
Alternative Route: A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the C1035, C1026, U1195, U1196 and U1197.
